This is Zengwe

Here at Zengwe, we believe Ugandans need a space to explore their creativity and imagine solutions for a better, brighter future. Zengwe is our take on that space: a digital hub to unite communities with creative storytellers and human rights campaigners. 
 
Our organization's mission is to empower individuals and communities through digital technology, and reach targeted audiences to inspire action for social change. Beyond hosting and producing original content, we also campaign for human rights. 
 
We do this by acting as a digital repository for human rights violations documented by our network, and running programmes to reach out to communities and develop human rights campaigners’ skills. 
 
Finally, we seek to empower communities and professionals in our field with training that focuses on digital skills for the 21st century: from basic digital literacy, to audio and video production for budding citizen journalists. 
 
Underpinning all we do is a core belief in the principles of equality and human rights, and the power of digital media to make a meaningful contribution towards equitable human development.
